- Guidance to the Chief Promoters of Co-operative Housing Societies in the matter of their formation and organization.
- Guidance to the members of provisional committees in holding their first meetings and proceedings to be conducted thereat..
- Guidance to the Office Bearers of Co-operative Housing Societies in their day-to-day management ,such as holding meetings of Managing Committee & General Body, Maintenance of Books of Accounts & Records, filing and preservation of old records with reference to the MCS Act 1960, MCS Rules 1961, Model Byelaws and in respect of their other provisions.
- Supply of various Forms, Booklets on various subjects mentioned hereunder, Model Byelaws, Books of Accounts and Registers required to be maintained by the Co-operative Housing Society.

- Conducting periodical Seminars at various places for giving guidance to the Office Bearers of Co-operative Housing Societies.
- Mobilising public opinion by holding Conferences on matters of important issues of Co-operative Housing movement and through press & other media.
- Dealing with common problems affecting majority of Co-operative Housing Societies and taking up the matters with authorities like Central & State Governments, Municipal Corporation with a view to secure maximum advantages for Co-operative Housing Societies.
- Publications of monthly magazine “Housing Times” containing the latest developments relating to the Co-operative Housing Societies and Movement in General and Court Case-laws, Notifications of Government, Amendment to the Act & Rules etc. It is supplied to each Member Co-operative Housing Society on its Registered Address.
RECOVERY OF DUES FROM MEMBERS OF CO-OPERATIVE HOUSING SOCIETIES
OF THE MAHARASHTRA
CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETIES ACT 1960.
Section 154(b)-29 of the Maharashtra Co-operative Societies Act 1960 provided for recovery of dues from members as arrears of land revenue, in respect of contain societies. However the dues of Co-operative housing societies were covered by the said section. There had been persistent demand to bring the dues of Co-op, Housing Societies within the purview of Sec. 154(b)-29 of the Maharashtra Co-operative Societies Act 1960. Accordingly Section 154(b)-29 of the Maharashtra Co-operative Societies Act. 1960 has been amended and the dues of Co-operative housing societies have been brought within the purview of the said section. This section enables the societies to obtain “Recovery Certificates” and recover the dues from the members by executing the same through the Special Recovery Officers appointed for the purpose, expeditiously and at cheaper cost. The co-op. housing societies would not be required hereafter to go to co-operative courts for recovery of charges.
